Robert Klerowski (“Bob”), 74, of Tewksbury, passed away on Christmas evening surrounded by his wife and children at Lahey Hospital in Burlington after a lengthy but courageous period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Therese A. (Bouchie) Klerowski with whom he had shared over 53 years of marriage. A son of the late Henry Klerowski and the late Anna (Mitrano) Klerowski, Bob was born on November 15, 1947 in Somerville, MA. He was raised and educated in the Somerville area.
He began working at a local stock exchange before enlisting in the United States Air Force and being deployed to Vietnam mere months after his marriage to Therese. After his honorable discharge 4 years later, he returned home to Somerville and shortly thereafter began working for the MBTA as an inspector. He worked with the MBTA for over 31 years upon his retirement in 2009. Bob enjoyed photography and playing the guitar. He was also a big Beatles fan. He also enjoyed golfing with friends and vacationing in Aruba with his wife and family. More than anything else though, his family was his life. Whether it be coaching his own children in hockey and baseball over the years here in Tewksbury or watching his grandchildren partake in their sports in his later years, his children and grandchildren were truly his pride and joy.
He is survived by his 3 children, Jill Gallagher and her husband, Joseph, of Billerica, Robert M. Klerowski of Tewksbury, and Jon Paul Klerowski and his wife, Abigail, of Ipswich, his 4 grandchildren, Robby M. Klerowski, Brennan Gallagher, Anna Gallagher and Isla Klerowski, his sisters, Teresa Wallace and her husband, William, of Wilmington, Patricia DiCampo and her husband, Frank, of Malden, sister-in-law, Rita Mastrangelo of Haverhill and many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to attend his Funeral Mass while following archdiocese mask regulation at St. Dorothy’s Church, 11 Harnden Street, Wilmington, MA on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. Following his Funeral Mass, in recognition of his service to his country, the United States Air Force will render military honors including the sounding of taps and folding and presentation of the flag.
