Stevens, Patrick McBride born and raised in Wellesley Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 27, 2021. He was 40 years old. Patrick was a resident of South Boston where he and his wife, Erica Stevens, resided along with their golden retriever, Larry. A graduate of Roger Williams University, Patrick was also a two-sport star at Wellesley High where he excelled in basketball as a starting forward on a Baystate champion team and as an offensive tackle on the Super Bowl championship team in 2000. Patrick was a sales consultant for TR Miller of Walpole Mass where he was adored by fellow workers, suppliers and customers. Patrick will be forever grateful for the opportunity to work there with such an outstanding owner and team.
Patrick was an enthusiastic follower of all teams Boston as well as the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. An accomplished golfer, Patrick earned a single-digit handicap and loved playing the most competitive courses he could find with friends and family. Most recently for his 40th birthday, his wife Erica treated him to several rounds of golf at Bandon Dunes in Oregon where he recorded some of his best rounds ever.
While Patrick loved sports, he loved his wife and his family even more. Patrick is survived by his wife Erica Stevens, brothers, Casey McBride Stevens of Charleston, SC, Peter McBride Stevens of Denver, CO, Conor McBride Stevens, his wife Annie Gorman Stevens and their daughter, Kiara McBride Stevens of Canton MA, his sister Riley McBride Dunn, her husband, Will Alden-Dunn and their daughter Charlie Alden Dunn of Dover, MA. Patrick was also the loving son of Christopher Stevens of South Bend IN and his late wife, Marian McBride Stevens, as well as his step-mother, Patrice Wynn Stevens and scores of cousins, relatives and friends.
Blessed with a lightening quick wit, Patrick would be equally at home on either a comedy show or a long-drive golf competition. Possessed with a huge heart, Patrick had just suggested to his siblings that they all donate their Christmas presents to the victims of the recent devastating Kentucky tornadoes. To that end, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either the Red Cross who are on the ground in Kentucky https://www.redcross.org/donate/disaster-relief or to the American Cancer Society to help find a cure for the disease that took his mother Donate | American Cancer Society.
Patrick’s wake will be held at George Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, at 477 Washington Street in Wellesley on Sunday, January 2, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. John’s Parish at 9 Glen Road in Wellesley on Monday, January 3, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellesley and a celebration of his life reception at Wellesley CC in Wellesley.
