Jeffery “Jeff” Joseph Schmandt, 59, of Enigma passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at his residence. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Schmandt at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating.
Born August 23, 1962, in Hamtramck, Michigan, Mr. Schmandt was the son of John Paul Schmandt, Jr. and his step-mother, Nancy Lee Lake Schmandt of Atlanta, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Schmandt; a brother-in-law, Marc McKenzie; and a sister-in-law, Michele Schmandt. He was employed as a tool and die maker at Master Craft Engineering in Tifton. He loved hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family. He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his father and step-mother, Mr. Schmandt is survived by one son, Justin Dakota Schmandt of Enigma; two brothers and one sister-in-law, John Paul III and Cheryl Schmandt of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Paul Robert Schmandt of Milan, Michigan; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Jacqueline and Dave Dettling of Firestone, Colorado, Margaret and Randy Egbert of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Sandra and George Bellman of August Township, Michigan; and eleven nieces and nephews.
