Obituary

CHICOPEE – Robin Jean Louis Goulet, 59, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Sherbrooke, Province of Quebec, Canada on November 1, 1962, a beloved son of the late Alpha Pierre Goulet and Valeda Obela (Blais) Goulet. He was raised in Notre Dame des Bois, Province of Quebec, Canada and immigrated to Westerly, RI with his family as a child and later moved to Holyoke in 1972 before moving to Chicopee in 1976. He was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 1980. He served his country in the United States Army and attained the rank of Sergeant. He received the Army Service Ribbon, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon and the Sharpshooter Badge. He was employed as a Heat Treat Group Leader at the US Tsubaki Company in Holyoke. He was a member of the Italian Citizens Club in Springfield. During his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, golfing and playing softball and hockey. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. He leaves his dear sister, Colette L. Dufresne and her husband, Paul, of Granby; his dear brother, Jean Louis Goulet and his wife, Carmel, of Augusta, ME; his dear brother in law, Rene Turgeon of Holyoke; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his three dear brothers, Michel, Renald and Claude Goulet; and his dear sister, Nicole Turgeon. His Funeral will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2021 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 7:45 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial with United States Army Military Honors will follow the Mass at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 6, 2021 from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. prior to the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Masks are required for his services.
