LEICESTER: Francis L. Goodwin,86, of Leicester, died Sunday, Dec. 26th in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his sister, Cora Jaillet and her husband Eddie of Leicester with whom he lived with, his sisters Katherine LeBlanc and her husband Ronnie of Leominster, and Mary Bricault and her husband Juni of Brookfield, his brother Richard Goodwin of Leicester, nieces and nephews: Stacey and Michael Novia, and Jason Jaillet all of Leicester and Justin Jaillet of Shrewsbury, great nieces; Hayley Novia and Jaden Jaillet, great nephews; Travis Jaillet and Nathan Novia. He is predeceased by his siblings; Leon Goodwin, Agnes Savage and Arthur Goodwin.
Francis was a man of God, loving uncle, brother, friend and father figure. He was the person listening to his country music, mowing the lawn with his John Deere. He enjoyed working in the yard, was a farmer and a gentle soul.
Francis worked at the Dye Mill on Chapel Street in Cherry Valley for more than 20 years. Upon retiring, he spent his time on the back porch, drinking his coffee and talking about the old days with his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A private Memorial Service will be held in the Spring at the First Congregational Church of Leicester. There are no immediate services.
