Joseph John Brenckle Jr., 81, of Whitman, MA passed away on December 27, 2021, with his family by his bedside.
He was the son of Mildred (Piekos) Brenckle and Joseph John Brenckle. Born on June 24, 1940, in Providence, RI.
He was a graduate of Classical High School and went on to receive a Master's Degree from Brown University and Doctorate from Stanford University in Slavic Linguistics.
He was a man of devote faith. He had a tremendous love of music, particularly the Polish Polka. He was known for a wealth of information of Polka music and its history.
He loved gardening, his trips to the Maine coast, as well as long walks in nature with his little dog, Nina.
He was the loving husband and best friend of Victoria Bias of Whitman, MA for 21 years. Father of Joseph John Brenckle the 3rd of Washington, D.C., Aleks Baldwin and husband Ryan of Virginia, Erika Brenckle and her partner Adrian Gayle of Beverly, MA, Peter Brenckle of Beverly, MA, Stepson Gregory Bias of Boston, Stepson Timothy Bias and his wife Helen of Hingham, MA, Stepson Christopher Bias and his wife Sonia of Quincy, MA. He was also blessed with 8 grandchildren that will miss him greatly.
At the request of the deceased all services will be private. There will be a Celebration of Life announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the MSPCA in his honor.
