Obituary

BELCHERTOWN – David Allen Walker, 51, of Belchertown, was Called Home on Thursday, December 23, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on April 12, 1970, the beloved son of Jean E. (Fortier) Walker of Chicopee and the late David A. Walker who was Called Home on February 11, 2020. He was raised in the Fairview section of Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and had moved to Belchertown in 1996 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was employed as a Sign Fabricator at the Agnoli Sign Company in Springfield. He was a communicant of Saint Anne Church and a member of the Fairview Council 4044 Knights of Columbus, both in Chicopee. During his leisure time, he enjoyed playing darts and horseshoes. He also enjoyed making crafts for his family and was always helpful to anyone in his family who needed assistance. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and soul mate, Olga M. (Rusciano) Walker. They were married on April 5, 1997 at Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 24 years of happiness together. In addition to his mother and wife, he also leaves his two loving children, David Allen Walker III of Belchertown and Melissa S. Walker and her partner, Alec Perrone, of Fairfield, IA; his three dear sisters, Kimberly A. Perry and her husband, Alan, of Belchertown, April A. Walker and her fiancé, Keith Mello, of Enfield, CT and Rachel A. Walker and her partner, John Koske, of Chicopee; his dear mother in law, Marla G. (Chaffee) Rusciano of Chicopee; his three dear brothers in law, Joseph Rusciano and his wife, Keri, of Chicopee, Thomas Rusciano of Deland, FL and Mario Rusciano of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended members of the Walker, Fortier and Rusciano families. He will also be deeply missed by his beloved canine companions, his dogs Ty and Rusty. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his dear father in law, Joseph Rusciano who was Called Home on August 4, 2011; his dear brother in law, Raymond Rusciano who was Called Home on August 26, 2020; and his dear sister in law, Kathy Rusciano. His Funeral will be held on Friday morning, December 31, 2021 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will be private. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear.
