Obituary

In Raynham, Edward “Patty” Powers Sr., age 88, passed away at the Life Care Center of Raynham on December 25, 2021 following a brief period of failing health. Edward was the husband of the late Mary (Brown) Powers. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Edward J. & Josephine (Mcelhiney) Powers.
Edward had resided in Raynham since 1965. He attended Boston schools and Massasoit Community College in Brockton. Edward served his country during the Korean War while in the U.S. Army. Edward was employed as a supervisor for the Major Chemical & Latex in Boston until his retirement. He was a member of the Disabled America Veterans, and enjoyed word search, listening to music, watching old movies and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Edward is survived by his loving children; Edward Powers of Raynham, Stephen Powers of Richmond, NH, Michael Powers of Summerfield, FL. and his late son Richard Powers, his grandchildren; Jessica, Nicholas, Zachary, Matthew Powers and his great grandchildren; Laila, Natalie, Travis, Maddie and Rory. Edward also leaves his siblings; Susan LeMay of Raynham, Sandra Will of North Weymouth, Holly Knight of Medfield and the late James and Thomas Powers.
Funeral from the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Thursday, December 30th at 9am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Church in Raynham at 10am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Wednesday from 5-7pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
