Toufea Thomas, 89, of Worcester died Saturday, December 25th in Holy Trinity Rehabilitation Center. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Katia (Gerges) Thomas; a brother, Fouad Thomas and sister in law Mouna Thomas of Worcester; a sister, Rosette Barsouna of Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Mitchell Thomas; his daughter, Elizabeth Bailie; brothers, Michel Thomas and Youssef Tannous; and sister, Naley Nakhle.
He was born in Lebanon the son of Georges Tannous Al Hallal and Moura Boutros and emigrated to the United States in 1953. Toufea was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Maronite Church. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family and close friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed going to the race track.
Due to increasing cases of Covid, funeral services and burial in Notre Dame Cemetery are private. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations are being collected for families in need in Chekka, Lebanon.
