Norman E. Sisson, age 85, surrounded by music, singing and his loving family, passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2021. He was born on May 16, 1936, in Berkley, CA, the son of the late Charles E. and Loveta (Martin) Sisson. Norman was a veteran of the US Air Force. He later worked as a supervisor in overhaul and engineering for Pratt and Whitney for over 32 years before he retired. He was a beloved member of The First Congregational Church of Chicopee, MA and one of his greatest pleasures was music and singing in the church choir. He had many hobbies including seashell collecting, fishing, cars, and loved all things in nature. He had a way of making all around him feel loved and welcome. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Phyllis (McNamara) Sisson of Chicopee; one son, Glenn Sisson of Chicopee; two daughters, Joy Flowers and her husband Eugene of Chicopee and Kim Sisson-DiBacco and her husband Michael of Chicopee; one brother David Sisson of WA; one sister, Charlotte Randolph of TX; four grandchildren, Richard Gendreau and his wife Susan, Eric Boisvere, Matthew Boisvere and Hannah Flowers; three great-grandchildren Kristina, Ella and Lorenzo along with many nieces and nephews. Norman is predeceased by his sister Elinor Seese along with two granddaughters Krista (Gendreau) Leven and Katrina Gendreau. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 4:00-7:00PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 11:30 at The First Congregational Church, 306 Chicopee St, Chicopee, MA. It was Norman’s wish that any memorial tributes be made to The First Congregational Church of Chicopee, 306 Chicopee St, Chicopee, MA 01013.
