Eugene P. “Gene” Marckini, of Medford, formerly of Cambridge, December 23rd. Beloved husband of Helen (Esson) Marckini. Father of Patricia Falasca and her late husband William of Medford, Jean Bowen and her husband Ronald of Medford, Francis Marckini and his wife Darlene of North Andover, Helen Roche and her husband Allen of Wakefield, Diane Butler and her husband Stephen of Medford, John Marckini and his wife Susan of Medford and Annmarie Marckini of Derry, NH. Brother of the late Catherine Golden and Frank and Jack Marckini. Brother-in-law of Annemarie and Albert Epstein of Medford. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Gene was raised and educated in North Cambridge. He has been a resident of Medford for the past 60 years. Gene served his county honorably as a soldier in the United States Army. For many years, he worked as a construction foreman for Turner Construction in Boston. He was a proud member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 33 in Boston. He was also an avid golfer, fisherman and enjoyed spending time in Gulfport, FL. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday December 29th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday December 28th from 4-7 PM.
