Russell, James “Jay” of Wayland passed away peacefully on December 17th, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Jay, Ray-Y, Biggie & Uncle Ray as he was fondly known was big presence, loyal friend and lover of life. His unconditional loyalty to family, friends and customers was unmatched.
Jay was a hard worker. For many years he owned and operated Cooperative Limo-Sedan, and recently was part of Key Limousine. Jay’s customer service and dedication to his clients was impeccable - many clients became friends. Jay was also an avid sports fan with a particular love for hockey and football. He also enjoyed many trips to Florida to attend the Daytona 500.
Jay was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth Russell of Nantucket. He is survived by his sister Sally Russell of Wayland, brother Chip Russell and his partner Terri Scribner, niece Rebecca Spear, her husband Marshall, great nephews Jack, Calvin & Walter, Sister-in-law DeeDe Baietti all of Yarmouth, Maine as well as many friends he considered family.
Jay’s family would like to thank Dr. Chryssanthi Kournioti and her entire team at Mass General Cancer Center at Newton Wellesley Hospital for their wonderful care of Jay. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring.
