Dorothy Louise (Porter) Wilson, 83, of Franklin died December 19 at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham following a brief illness. She was the wife of Robert Wilson for the past 63 years.
Born in Boston, January 23, 1938, the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Lamoretti) Porter-Joyce, Mrs. Wilson was raised in the Savin Hill area of Dorchester and had lived in Franklin since 1964.
Dorothy was a 1955 graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy in Brighton .
She had been benefits coordinator for the Staples Company before retiring. She had previously worked for the Analog Corporation.
Dorothy enjoyed sewing, and was skilled at many other crafts. She also enjoyed gardening and photography which would make her pictures into beautiful albums.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Bob Wilson and his wife Alice of Memphis, Tennessee, Lynne Wilson of Hatteras, North Carolina, Michael Wilson of Franklin, John Wilson and Paul Wilson of Clearwater, Florida, and Christopher Wilson of Franklin.
She is also survived by her siblings, Jean Falvey and her husband Daniel Falvey of Walpole and Frank Porter of Attleboro.
Dorothy is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda, Nicole, Joshua, Augustus, Octavius, and Julius. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 30 in St. Mary’s Church Franklin, MA at 10:00 a.m.
Face coverings are required to enter the funeral home and St. Mary's Church.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery on Beaver Street in Franklin.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.
