CHICOPEE – Glennis K. “Pinky” (Gewinner) Gorman, 77, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, December 18, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at the Willimansett Center East in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on Saturday, September 9, 1944, a beloved daughter of the late Walter A. and Sophie T. (Matrishon) Gewinner. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Holyoke High School and lived in Holyoke until moving to Chicopee in the mid 1960’s. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a longtime communicant and choir member at the former Saint Patrick Church in Chicopee Falls. Following the closing of her beloved parish, she became a communicant of the Catholic Community of Saint Elizabeth at Saint John the Baptist Church in Ludlow where she sang in the church choir. Pinky was known for her wonderful baking skills and made wedding and birthday cakes for many of her family and friends over the years. She loved to go shopping and was the official “caretaker” to her entire family especially her beloved husband, Phil. Most of all, she was a wonderful woman who adored her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Philip W. Gorman who was Called Home on May 26, 2021. They were married on October 4, 1974 in Chicopee and were blessed with over 46 years of happiness together. She leaves her devoted children, Brian M. Gorman of Chicopee, Tally M. Beaulieu and her husband, Alain, of Ludlow, and Lori A. Cognac and Matthew Cognac, of Chicopee; her seven cherished grandchildren, Devan Fountain and her husband, Joseph, Cameron Beaulieu and his fiancée, Steff Trowbridge, Jillian Beaulieu, Logan Cognac, Connor Cognac, Brian Gorman and Brandon Gorman; Glennis was watching from the Eternal City of Heaven, the birth of her great-grandson, Owen Fountain who was born on Sunday, December 19, 2021; her loving step-children, Daniel Gorman of Agawam, Kathleen Guevin of Chicopee and Kristine Gorman and her fiancé, Mark Czerniak of Westfield; her four cherished step-grandchildren, Philip Gorman, Matthew Gorman, Martin Guevin and Josh Brouillette; her two dear sisters, Eunice Hartling of Holyoke and June Guilbault of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Joyce Ottomaniello of Ludlow; her dear brother-in-law, Mark Gorman and his wife, Patricia, of South Carolina; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended members of the Gorman and Gewinner families. Besides her parents and her beloved husband, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, Walter “Buddy” Gewinner; her three dear brothers-in-law, Ernest Guilbault, Joseph “Jack” Gorman and Michael Gorman and his wife, Cindy. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
