…After living a very full life Dona Jeanne Hale passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on December 6, 2021.
Dona was born in Somerville, MA on July 19, 1934 to Mary and Domenico Vigoroso. She grew up in Somerville with her lifelong friends, Anna, Debbie, Lorraine and Marion. After graduating from Somerville High School, Dona moved to New York City to attend airline school. Then in 1962 Dona and her friend Roz moved to Los Angeles, CA and they remained lifelong friends. Although Dona called California home for the rest of her life, she never lost touch with those friends from the East Coast: a testament to their love for each other.
Dona worked in many areas including an investment company and an ad agency. When Dona met and married her husband Sam, they bought and managed a vineyard and a walnut farm. She excelled at talking to people and selling wine. Her entrepreneurial spirit was always present as she consulted with cosmetic companies on their products. Purple mascara was always a must for her.
Dona lived a life of generosity. She touched the hearts of many by cultivating relationships all throughout her life. She always found common ground with people, and the legacy that she leaves is one of KINDNESS.
Dona is survived by her niece Laura Perry of Camarillo, CA, husband Frank, and son Bruno, nephew Mark Vigoroso of Marietta, GA,wife Sharon and children Carmella, Siena and Leo, sister-in-law Renee Vigoroso of Arlington, MA and many cousins and friends. Her brother Hugo Vigoroso had predeceased her.
On Saturday, January 8, 2021 all are welcome to gather from 10:30a.m.-11a.m. at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 11 a.m. followed by procession for burial at St. Michael Cemetery, 500 Canterbury Street, Boston, MA.
