Fairhaven – Maria DosSantos Botelho, age 102, of Fairhaven passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Royal of Fairhaven. She was the beloved wife of the late Joao Raposo Botelho.
Maria was born in Agua de Pau, Sao Miguel, Azores and was the loved daughter of Antonio Botelho and Virginia deAlmeida. She had been a loving homemaker to her family over the years.
She is survived by her children, Deodate Tavares and his wife Ester Tavares, Jose Davide Botelho and his wife Hilda Botelho, Joao Manuel Botelho and his wife Evangelina Botelho, Fatima Amaral and her husband Joao Amaral, Carlos Botelho and his wife Arlete Botelho and Eduarda Nunes and her husband Armenio Nunes; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her late daughter, Teresa Tavares.
Maria’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place Thursday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
The family has kindly requested that all attendees, please wear a face mask or face covering at all times and to practice social distancing.
