SWANSON, SUSAN L of Orleans, 73, passed away suddenly at Cape Cod Hospital while recovering from a broken hip on December 5 , 2021. Susan was predecease by her parents Walter & Arlene Swanson .
Susan was born in Ossining, New York on January 22, 1948. After High School she continued her education at Old Dominion University, Lasell College and Springfield College. Teaching was on her mind . She went on to teach in Virginia Beach, Orleans and Eastham Elementary schools. Director of Title 1 a Federal funded program and Orleans Water And Fire Departments,
Susan loved cats and many over the years. She loved the beach in summer and fishing for flounder in the fall was very relaxing. She also had a green thumb for growing flowers .Years before her passing taking short trips and rides were also enjoyed.
A supporter of Colonial Williamsburg, a member of Eastern Star, BPW, PDK and American Legion Auxiliary .
A brother Kurt and a sister Kristin predeceased her. Survivors are longtime friend of 40 years Richard Knowles, nephew James Graham and niece Jessica Franco .
A graveside memorial is planned in the spring. Donations may be made to Animal Rescue league of Boston.
