Dixie Loreda “Sissy” (Robbins) Smith, 86, of Anderson, passed away at home on Sunday, December 19, 2021.
She was born on June 27, 1935 in Anderson the daughter of Bertram R. and Delia A. (Clark) Robbins.
She attended Anderson High School and was retired from the United States Postal Service. Dixie was a member of the Middletown Legion Auxiliary–unit 216 and the Daleville Darlings.
Dixie is survived by her children; Scott J. Smith of Marion and Deborah L. Smith-Barnes of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Jacob Charles Barnes, Jarrett Kent Barnes, and Jo Dee Lynn Barnes; sister, Cheryl (Bill) Carter; sister-in-law, Carolyn Julius; nephew, Roman Carter and niece, Robyn (Carter) McGrady; and special friend, John Harrington, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kent Roy Smith, whom she married June 19, 1961, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Rozelle -Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the funeral on Thursday at the funeral home.
