Flora T. (Verdi) Whisple passed away peacefully on Friday night, December 17th. She was 92. Born and raised in Somerville, Flora was the daughter of the late John and Mary E. (Zappelli) Verdi. A life-long Somerville resident, Flora worked as a trust administrator with the State Street Bank. Flora was devoted to her family and looked forward to spending time with her family and friends. She liked bingo and Friday night gatherings with her friends. She loved to knit, go for walks and spend time shopping. As her mother was ailing, Flora dedicated herself to caring for her. Her generosity will be always remembered.
The beloved wife of the late Kenneth E. Whisple, Flora was a devoted mother to David Whisple and his wife Donna, Donna DeLuca and her husband Joseph, Diane Durante and her husband Bernard and Doreen Taylor. She was a loving grandmother to Heather, David, Joseph, Katherine, Laura, Jennifer, Michael and Keith. Flora was also a loving great-grandmother to Logan, Jackson, Owen, Evan, Charles, Matilda, Gabriel, Pearl, Eddy, Jack, Kian, Bella, Griffin and JT.
At the request of the family, services for Flora will be private.
