Howard E. Hinkle, 93, resident of Muncie, passed away December 18, 2021 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
He was born on July 27, 1928 in Indianapolis, the son of Forrest Dale and Montrea L. (Scott) Hinkle. He was an Anderson resident for most of his life, residing in Muncie the past 12 years. Howard retired from Allstate Insurance Company in 1996 after 32 years as a sales agent.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He attended the Nazarene Church and enjoyed motor cycle riding and square dancing for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Jayne Ann (Cunnington ) Hinkle, whom he married July 26, 1993; daughters, Terri Rasmussen, Gina Hinkle, Kim Hinkle; sons, David Hinkle, Joey Hinkle; step-daughters, Kim Laffoone, Kathy Smith, Shelley Clamme; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Herschel Hinkle; sister, Helen Johnson; several nieces and nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Manford and Hubert; sisters, Clara Grace and Hope; grandson, Tyler; great granddaughter, Vada Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021at 1:00 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Jim Warren. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery in Muncie with military graveside rites.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
