Obituary

Jean L. Duvert was called home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2021 at 8:45 AM. Jean passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home. Jean was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, beloved son of the late Eugene Duvert and Charite Atelier. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Mr. Jean was a quality man, as he was respectful and respectable. A distinguished and passionate father of his children and a tolerant grandfather. He was also a worker of integrity to whom we bore good testimony. Above all, he was a man of God, faithful and honest in all his endeavors, sincere in his work, and obedient to spiritual authorities.

Mr. Duvert's greatest love was for his family, children, grandchildren, and friends. He leaves behind his 12 children, Marie Genise Sicot, Philomene Duvert Justin, Chaanglais Duvert, Johanne Duvert, Manouchika Duvert, Frantz Duvert, Woody Duvert, Peterson Duvert, Jimy Duvert, and Rosenberg Duvert, and 35 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He had a beautiful bond with his children and grandchildren. Jean was what one call the ultimate family man. The love that he had and so openly gave to his family was endearing and translated through every interaction. He was a man that loved music, art and was the center of every conversation. Anytime he walked into a room, the energy shifted upwards.

His great love for his friends and colleagues only matched his love for his children and grandchildren. His nieces and nephews fondly remember him as the joyful uncle who taught them all to dance and reminded them that kindness was free. Jean truly epitomized the idea that one should always live life on their terms.

We wish that we had more time and perhaps spent more of it together during our time. We wish that so much of his life had not been lost to illness. We hope that things could have been different for him and us. While we know that he is at peace and that there is pain and sadness at the end of his struggles. But even though he is gone, he has left the legacy of his love and perseverance. The ways he touched our lives will remain, and we ask you to keep those memories alive by sharing them.

Family and friends are invited to attend viewing hours on Thursday December 30, 2021 from 9-10 AM followed by a Religious Service from 10-11:30 AM in Mt. Olive Church located at 1285 Hyde Park Ave, Hyde Park, Ma. Burial will be immediately following in Fairview Cemetery located at 45 Fairview Ave, Hyde Park, ma.
