Fiskdale: Daniel "Danny" J. Labuski, Sr., 65 passed away peacefully on December 14, 2021 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, following a long and very courageous battle with illness. He leaves his wife of 36 years Janice (Nelson) Labuski; a son Daniel Labuski Jr. of Boston; a daughter Julia Labuski of Boston; 4 sisters- Mary McAullife and her husband John of Sterling, Ann Marie Kahn and her husband Howard of Worcester, Christine Labuski and her partner Nick Copeland of VA, and Kathleen Dion and her husband David of Maine; a brother Francis Labuski and his partner Stephanie Bacon of Maine; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Stephen Labuski.
Dan was born in Worcester, son of the late Francis and Mary (Malloy) Labuski. He graduated from Burncoat High School and worked as an Assistant Forman in the MA Department of Transportation for 38 years. He enjoyed reading, movies, music, golf, New England sports and was a "foodie", and loved dining out. He especially liked spending summers at the family's former home in Maine. Danny was a very loyal and devoted husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He was a great conversationalist and admired by almost everyone he met. He was a very generous person, much like his mother.
Words can not express the gratitude for the care provided to Dan by the Bone Marrow and Oncology teams at UMass Medical Center during many hospital stays - his second family. Thank you to Dr. Shyam Patel for his unwavering care and commitment to Danny during his long and difficult illness.
