Obituary

Mark D. Amabello, 46, of Derry, NH died at his residence April 17, 2006 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Methuen, MA on June 7, 1959 and lived in Windham, NH for most of his life. He has resided in Derry for the past two years. A graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Derry, class of 1978, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a self-employed roofing contractor until illness forced his retirement several years ago. Mark was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Derry. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved riding his Harley and visiting his retreat on Lake Winnipesaukee. He was a talented gardener who enjoyed tending to his greenhouses, rock gardens and vegetable gardens. In addition, Mark and his daughter shared a love for animals.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra (True) Amabello of Derry, a daughter, Ashley Dawn Amabello of Derry, also nieces, nephews and many close friends.

Calling hours were on Friday, April 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 22 at 9 AM in the Windham Presbyterian Church, 1 Church Rd., Windham. Cremation followed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ashley D. Amabello Trust Fund, c/o Citizens Bank, 42 Pinkerton St., Derry, NH 03038.
