Nelia A. Phillips, 87

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Nelia A. (Pellegrini) Phillips, age 87, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Briarwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Needham.

Born in Mansfield, MA on February 13, 1934, she was a loving daughter of the late John and Josephine (Morbidelli) Pellegrini.

Nelia grew up in Mansfield and was a 1952 graduate of Mansfield High School. She had made her home in Mansfield for most of her life and also resided in Foxborough and Attleboro.

A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Phillips had also worked, when younger, at the former Bay State Tap & Die in Mansfield and the former Mansfield Chocolate Factory.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Nelia’s family, who she loved unconditionally, was the essence of her life and she ever-so-much loved to babysit her grandchildren and great grandchildren over the years. Nelia also enjoyed the simple pleasure of relaxing at home, was an avid New England Patriots fan, enjoyed antiquing, attending yard sales and will always be remembered for the special place she held in her heart for animals.

She is survived by her devoted children: Debra Giovaniello and her husband Ralph of Mansfield, Kim O’Connor of Stuart, Florida, Jeffrey Phillips and his fiancé Kerri Caldwell of Attleboro and Jennifer Phillips-Page of Plainville, who was predeceased by her husband Perry Page, Sr. She was the cherished grandmother of Adrienne Marcellus and her fiancé Justin Powers of Mansfield, Perry “PJ’ Page, Jr. of Plainville and the treasured great grandmother of Seyvon Miller of Brockton and Niomi Marcellus of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of the late Mario Pellegrini, Maria Pellegrini and Angelo Pellegrini. She was the former wife of the late Clyde H. Phillips, Sr. and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

Services, along with burial at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield, will be held privately at a later date.

Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Nelia with a donation in her memory made to the Mansfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 25, Mansfield, MA 02048.
