Obituary

William Edward Hetorilla, 84, of North Attleborough passed away on November 24, 2021. He spent his final months in Holliston surrounded by friends and family.

He was born October of 1937 in Boston, MA. Bill attended Catholic High School in Boston and received a B.S. in Engineering from Northeastern University.

Known as Bill to all, he is survived by his wife Sueko, son Daniel, daughters Shereen and Christina, son-in-law Eric, grandchildren Christopher and Hana, and by his sisters Virginia, Evelyn, and Nancy. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Elizabeth and brothers Frederick and Joseph.

He retired as a Technical Sargent from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service having traveled all over the world, including many countries across east Asia. He took active roles in contributing to his community from volunteering with his children’s band organization as the President of the Band Parents to serving as a Trustee on his Condominium Board.

Bill was particularly fond of the humanities. He had a life-long love of studying philosophies and languages and dedicated significant time to his studies of French and Japanese. His favorite leisure time activities included sketching, sculpting, and playing the guitar and piano. A physical fitness enthusiast with a love of the outdoors, he spent many hours running, cycling, swimming, and gardening. He particularly enjoyed opportunities to just walk in nature.

After he retired from service, he moved his family back to Massachusetts and eventually settled in North Attleborough. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he cherished spending time with his family. He was fortunate to have been surrounded by family in these last few months.

Funeral services will be held for immediate family only at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. The family requests that people make memorial donations to the PBS Foundation, in lieu of sending flowers.
