FALL RIVER… Gloria (Mello) Pacheco, 100, of Fall River passed away December 14, 2021 at Kimwell Nursing & Rehabilitation.
She was the loving wife of the late Ernest Pacheco.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Gloria (Souza) Mello and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Gloria is best known in Fall River for the years she spent working at St. Michael’s Athletic Club on Webster Street until its closing in 2016. She could often be found walking around the Flint area, going to and from work, attending Mass at Espirito Santo Church and having her hair done every Friday.
Survivors include her son: Jeffrey Pacheco of Fall River; her daughter: Patricia Whiting of Fall River; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends. She was the mother of the late Ernest Pacheco Jr., Ronald Pacheco, Raymond Pacheco, and Daniel Pacheco, sister of the late Lena Ksen, Lucy Mello, Delia Mello and John Mello, and grandmother of the late Valerie Pacheco and Richard Pacheco.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 at 9 AM from South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, MA 02723 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Espirito Santo Church, Alden Street Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 4 – 8 PM.
