Naomi “Ruth” Barton Marta, 72, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Sean McMillan officiating. Mrs. Marta’s son, Joey Marta, will give a eulogy. Mrs. Marta will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Marta’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born March 26, 1949, in Macon, Mrs. Marta was the daughter of the late Early Barton and Louise Bledsoe Barton. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Carpenter Road Church of God. She enjoyed bowling and playing bingo.
Mrs. Marta is survived by her husband, Joseph Marta of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Michelle Marta of Tifton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lisa Marta of Tifton and Jennifer and Trey Butterfield of Augusta; five grandchildren, Andrew Marta, Timothy Marta, Blake Barron, Jordan Barron and Bryce Marta; and three great-grandchildren.
