John Michael D’Angelo, Sr. 85, of Franklin passed December 13th in Milford Regional Medical Center following a hard battle with a long illness. He was the husband of Margaret E. (Cusson) D’Angelo for 54 years.
Born in Franklin on January 10, 1936, the son of the late William and Vera (Yadisernia) D’Angelo, John was a lifelong Franklin resident.
John treasured his career working at the Wrentham Developmental Center for many years until retiring in 1997.
He then worked for several years a security guard at EMC in Hopkinton.
John enjoyed reading, animals, music, art, sports and especially being in the company of his grandchildren sharing his extraordinary stories, which always brought a smile to their faces.
Mr. D’Angelo served in the Army during the late 1950’s attaining the rank of SP4.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tammy M. Giovanella and her husband Mark of Blackstone and John M. D’Angelo, Jr. of Franklin.
He is also survived by his siblings, Gerald D’Angelo of Franklin, Dorothy Arnold of Leesburg, Virginia, Evelyn D’Angelo of Milford and Paul D’Angelo of Clairesville, Ohio.
He was the brother of the late Raymond, William, Robert, James and Frederick D’Angelo.
John is also survived by his grandchildren, Darien, Michael, Makayla and Riley.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 18 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street Franklin at 2:00p.m.
Burial will be private.
Visitation will be on Saturday from Noon-2:00p.m.
