John F. Ahern, of Malden, passed peacefully on December 11th, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Michael and Julia Ahern. Brother of the late James Ahern and survived by his sister Margaret Stanley and his twin sister Sheila Zaccone and her husband Guy Zaccone, all of Georgetown. Proud father of Joyce Kinnon and her husband Larry of Port Charlotte, FL, Doreen Ahern of Lawrence, Kathy Ahern of Reading and Katie Ahern of Methuen. Grandfather of Alyssa and Travis Russell of Stockton Springs, ME. John was raised in Malden and attended Immaculate Conception Grammar School, Malden High School and Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. He worked as the Food Service Director at Malden Hospital for 35 years. He was an avid fan of all sports, was blessed with and Irish sense of humor and had a loving and giving personality. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Tuesday Dec. 21st at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday Dec. 20th from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Masks are required for all indoor services.
