Marjorie Ash McCranie, 73, of Fort Valley, Georgia, died Sunday, December 12, 2021, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, December 17, 2021, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, with the Rev. Greg Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. McCranie was born August 13, 1948, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Marvin Harold & Alice Elizabeth Lee Ash. She was a homemaker and also provided childcare in her home. She was a former employee of Fitzgerald Underwear and Wal-Mart. Mrs. McCranie was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and loved her cats. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons: William E. “Bill” McCranie & Laurie of Louisville, Kentucky, Scott McCranie of Fitzgerald and Brad McCranie & Amanda of Fort Valley; grandchildren: Kayley McCranie, Whiddon McCranie, Harper McCranie & her fiancé Michael Evans, Will McCranie, Nathan Mansfield McCranie and Logan McCranie; and a brother, Marvin “Buddy” Ash, Jr. & Teresa of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Emory “Billy” McCranie.
