Hing Leang Taing, 79, of Lowell passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lang Yu Taing with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
He was born on November 12, 1942 in Battambang, Cambodia and was a son of the late Suy Taing and the late Kingmann (Chao) Taing. Educated in Cambodia, he was popular and served as class president. He was sponsored to the United States in July 1998 by his son David Khain Vay Taing, who immigrated to the United States with Khin Sann Yin and Sue Taing Yin in 1980. A businessman in the meat industry in Cambodia, Hing worked for a lumbar company and did packaging and assembling work at Fuji. He was all smiles when he became a U.S. citizen and also when family and friends gathered together in Lowell for his 50th wedding anniversary in 2018. He is most proud of his family’s achievements and success, especially his son David who works as a family and sports medicine physician in Venice, Florida, and his daughter Lihuo who owns a thriving doughnut shop in Eunice, Louisiana.
Hing enjoyed playing billiards, watching sports, and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife Lang Yu Taing, Hing Taing is survived by his seven children and eighteen grandchildren. His surviving 7 children are Haye Fong Taing, Jianli Taing, David Khain Vay Taing, Hang Taing, Chiu Yi Taing, Chantra Suy, and Lihuo Taing. He is also survived by his sister Lang Taing of Lowell. Although he is now resting with his younger brother Leang Sim Taing (who passed away in 2002) and his younger sister Sue Taing Yin (who passed away in 2016), Hing Leang Taing will be missed and will forever be in our hearts.
