WINKLER, Henry A. of Moss Hill Jamaica Plain, December 11, 2021, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Elfriede (Boehl) for 68 years. Henry was born in Hamburg, Germany. Brother-in-law of Walter Boehl and his wife Mary of Westwood. Uncle of Erika Joyal of Marshfield, Werner Boehl of Scituate, and Walter Boehl of Westwood. Great-uncle of Kayla and Ben Joyal of Marshfield, and many nieces and nephews. He is well known in the business community as the former owner of Yumont Hardware in Jamaica Plain and Atlas Hardware in West Roxbury. Former President of the Board of Trustees of the Deutsches Altenheim (German Centre) and former President of the German Aid Society of Boston. He established the annual Deutsches Altenheim Golf Tournament held to benefit the activities fund for the residents of the home. He was also an active member of the Boylston Schul Verein in Walpole and the West Roxbury Kiwanis Club. Henry enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and his big heart. He was highly respected in the German community of the Boston area who he faithfully served for many years through his work at the Deutsches Altenheim. Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 97 South St. Jamaica Plain on Wednesday, December 15th at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery.
