George A. Farmer, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Farmer was born December 27, 1943, in Mobile, Alabama, to the late George M. & Martha Austin Farmer. He worked for the City of Fitzgerald for nearly 20 years. Mr. Farmer was the first officer to work in the animal control program started under Police Chief Drew Solomon in 1976.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Roxie Mobley Farmer of Fitzgerald; a son, Glen M. Farmer & Janet of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; and a god-son, David Mobley & Rhonda of Taft, Florida.
