Jackie Russell Crumley, 80, of Omega, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Legacy Village in Tifton. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Union Church in Eldorado with the Rev. Todd Garner and the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Crumley will be laid to rest at Union Church Cemetery in Eldorado. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Crumley will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Chris Overman, Caleb Overman, Johnathon Crumley, Josh Thompson, Chad Robinson and Wade Crumley serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Turnmire, Charles Sumner, Larry Dunn, John Overman, Julian Bennett, Cam Avila, Katrina Fussell, Andy Purcell, Terry Butler, Tim Butler and members of the Grove Trotters Sunday School Class at Union Church in Eldorado.
Born May 7, 1941, in Tift County, Mr. Crumley was the son of the late Dewey Russell Crumley and Hazel Butler Crumley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Oliver Crumley; and two brothers, Jerry Crumley and Gary Crumley. Before retiring, he was a farmer and paint contractor. He loved traveling on a motorcycle across the United States with close family and friends; loved fish fries; and family gatherings were very special. He was a member of Union Church in Eldorado and he was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Crumley is survived by a special friend, Margie Bennett of Omega; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Donnie and Janice Crumley, Mike and Angie Crumley and Dickie and Shirley Robinson, all of Omega and Wayne Matthews of Americus; one daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Chuck Parks of Lenox; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Shirley Crumley of Omega; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Farris Thompson of Waterloo and Bonnie and John Overman of Omega; six grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew Crumley, Rebekah and Grayson Garner, Chad and Megan Robinson, C. J. And Brandon Pafford, Tessla Watts and Melissa Gandy; and ten great-grandchildren, Abbie Gandy, Maddie Gandy, Hallie Robinson, Heidi Robinson, Willow Robinson, Rhiggs Robinson, Meghan Pafford, Mallory Pafford, Mason Pafford and Tealy Watts.
