New Bedford – Hilda (Vieira) Martin, aged 89 years, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at St. Lukes Hospital. She was the widow of Jesse Martin and was formerly married to Alfred Moniz. Mrs. Martin was the mother of Dalila Marcotte of New Bedford, Hilda Baptista of No. Dartmouth and Nancy Marcellino of Fairhaven, she was the sister of Gene Vieira of Brooklyn, N.Y. Her deceased siblings include Eva Vieira, Olive Freitas, Georgina Pacheco, Joseph Vieira, Daniel Vieira, Louis Vieira and Manuel Vieira. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Martin was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Maria A. (Tavares) and Manuel Vieira Sr.
Her Funeral Services will be private at the request of the family.
