Obituary

Paul Albert Remington, son of the late Leonard L. F. Remington and Elizabeth (O’Connor) Remington, passed away peacefully, Friday December 10, 2021 at Milford Regional Medical Center, following an illness.

Pre deceased by sister Anne (Remington) Larkin and niece Sarah (Larkin) Bristor.

Family members include nephew Peter Larkin of Connecticut, nephew David Larkin of Texas, niece Jenny Larkin of Virginia. Local cousins Atty. Judith Pond Pfeffer of Franklin, Linda Luchuk of Bellingham.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School. Paul had worked as a plant manager at the former Thompson Press Company in Franklin.

Paul was an accomplished family historian and had traced the Remington ancestry back to the Mayflower, which allowed family members to join the Mayflower Society.

His accomplishments also included orienteering, skiing, mountain climbing and trail riding. Paul was elected “President for Life” of the King Phillip Trail Riders Association. In his later years he became legally blind then taught himself how to catch the Gatra bus, get to the Senior Center for breakfast and get himself back to his apartment by mid-afternoon.

He, as his father before him, enjoyed a Manhattan with always a little grenadine for sweetness. He never learned or wanted to learn how to cook. Never had any desire to learn. He was unique. He will be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour Thursday Dec. 16th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 9:30-10:30AM.

His funeral Mass will follow in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 11AM.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
