Catherine Oakhem aka "Chris", Auntie Cathy of Woburn passed away peacefully, Saturday December 4, 2021 at the Bear Hill Nursing Home of Wakefield. She was 76. Born and raised in Dorchester, Cathy was the cherished daughter of the late William J. and Catherine (Qualters) Oakhem.
Cathy was a longtime employee of Boston Sheraton for 50+ years where she worked in the accounting department. Dedicated to her family and her work. A true Bostonian at heart, Cathy was always and could be subtlety heard at any forum or get together with one of her famous phrases. Cathy was a very giving and caring person to her family and her friends. She took pride in supporting many charitable causes. Cathy was very active during her years of employment and when she retired. She greatly enjoyed reading "her books", traveling, dining out, theater and musicals, history, Legacy movie stars, politics, and her love for her pets throughout the years. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
In addition to her late parents, Cathy is sadly predeceased by her brother, the late William R. Oakhem. She is lovingly survived by her nephew; Sean Oakhem of Windham, NH and his children Shane and Ashley Oakhem and their mother Chrystal Oakhem, niece; Tara Perrin and her husband Ben and their children Alexandra, Jacquelyn, Christopher, and Cameron, niece Gaia Oakhem of Chester, NH and her children Emerald, Jade and Jasper.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Thursday, December 16th, from 4 to 7 p.m. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Catherine's memory to ALS Assoc.
