Raymond D. Romero, 79, of Oak View, CA, passed away on December 4, 2021 in Ventura, CA. Raymond was born on March 21, 1942 in Santa Barbara, CA to Calletano and Antonia Romero. He was the third of six children. Shortly after attending Ventura High School, he married his high school sweetheart and was blessed with 3 children. Married for 60 years, he spent his entire life in Ventura County with his beloved wife. Raymond valued family and cherished creating memories. With his warm hearted personality, it was easy for him to gain friends. Raymond worked over 35 years in the construction trade and was a union member of Local 585. He was also a member of the Lions Club and frequently volunteered his time. A "handyman" in the true sense, he was always upgrading his home and repairing gadgets. He had a tool for everything and took pride in his work. For leisure, he enjoyed riding his Harley and outdoor activities including camping, fishing and hunting. Every year, he led his family on a week long fishing trip to the Sierras. Fond memories for all.
Raymond is survived by his wife Juanita Romero; son Raymond Romero; daughters Marie Martinez and Lydia St. Joseph; grand daughters Elaina Martinez, Jessica Martinez, Victoria St. Joseph, Alexa St. Joseph and great grand daughter Olivia Martinez. Living brothers include John and Richard Romero. Raymond will be laid to rest next to his sisters Antonia Romero and Ramona Mijares and his brother Calletano Romero.

The funeral service will be held at Ivy Lawn Cemetery, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, CA on December 16, 2021 at 2 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, CA.
