On December 5, 2021, Patricia Ann Cornett, 82 of Ventura, CA, passed away peacefully in her sleep. Patsy is finally free from living with Alzheimer’s Disease. Patsy was born in Menominee MI to Edmund and Leona Sieminski on October 13, 1939. The family moved to California when she was 9. She was the first of 6 children. Patsy went to Ventura High School and graduated in 1957. She furthered her education at Ventura College. She retired from Ventura Unified School District after a career of over 30 years. Patsy is preceded in death by her caring husband of 60 years, Malcolm W. Cornett. They were active members of the Ventura Moose and the Elks Lodges for many years, where Patsy was able to fulfill her need to be involved with community service. During their retirement they enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome. Patsy was also an avid Bingo player, she was excited when she could yell, BINGO!
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Briggs, husband David, son Rodney Cornett, loving girlfriend Nancy, Grandchildren Melissa Cornett, Tamara Szekely, Zachary Cornett and Kyndle Macnaughton and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Thomas, James and William Sieminski, and sisters Cheryl Smith and Mary Soper.
Those living with Alzheimer’s could not get through the day if not for their caregivers, the family wishes to Acknowledge Rowe Residence for tireless care and attention they gave to our mom. Buenavista Hospice who went over and above caring for Patsy and helping the family navigate this terrible disease.
Patricia will be remembered by many for her great smile and always having a kind word.
In her memory the family requests that gifts be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. There will be a private celebration of life at a later date.
