Lorraine J. (Springer) Nielsen, 80, of Lakeville died July 29, 2002 at Island Terrace Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Captain Niels B. Nielsen, and daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Wurlitzer) Springer.
Mrs. Nielsen was born in Chicago, Illinois, and had lived in Lakeville for most of her life.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and ceramics.
Survivors include 2 sons, Niels P. Nielsen and his wife Colleen, of East Freetown, and Karl G. Nielsen and his wife Tristy of Oak Harbour, WA; a daughter, Penny Wrightington and her husband David, of Rochester; 6 grandchildren, Torrie Wrightington of Rochester, Miah Nielsen of Lakeville, Ian Nielsen and Kendyl Nielsen, both of East Freetown and Morgan Nielsen and Griffin Nielsen, both of Oak Harbour, WA; 3 great-grandchildren, Dimitri Wrightington, Nigel Wrightington and Kyle Parmenter, all of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Jeffery E. Nielsen.
Funeral Services and burial will be private.
