Saint-Gilles "Negot" Sergile was born in Saint-Marc, Haïti on December 12, 1955 to Liliane Arthur and Dorce Sergile, both deceased. He was the fourth of eight children.
He moved to the United States in 1984. When he arrived in this country, he took on many different trades and jobs. His experiences ranged from nursing assistant to carpentry, including plumbing, electricity, and mechanics. He also worked as a school bus driver for students in the Boston Public Schools for over fifteen years.
For seventeen years, he served at the Bethesda Church together with his wife. He was a friend to young people, valued their education, and encouraged them to use their skills and talents for their community. He passed away after a brief illness on December 1st, 2021.
He will be missed by many. We share condolences with his wife, Carole Sergile née Ogé. His children: Alain , Marc Roody , Kimberly , Carl , et Joshua. His stepchildren: Laura Francisque née Saintable and family and Taylor Saintable. His grandchildren Jathniel Sergile, Jayden Roody Sergile, Jaylene Selena Sergile, and Israel Sergile. His brothers and sisters: Arnous Sergile, Irene Sergile, Mimose Sergile, Marie Carmelle Sergile, et Ruth Sergile, his many nephews and nieces, his many cousins and extended family and friends affected by this loss.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 10:00am at Temple Salem SDA Church located at 222 Woodrow Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02124. Burial service will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, MA 02131.
