Ventura - Martijn Gerardus Albertus De Bruijn, 44, of Ventura formerly of Carpinteria passed away on Tuesday December 7, 2021 at home with his family by his side.
Born and educated in Utrecht, Netherlands, he moved to the United States in 2011 with his wife Abigail.
Martijn was passionate about local fishing, always finding time to fish the coast between Santa Barbara and Ventura. A true family man who loved spending time with his wife and daughters.
He was employed as a production manager for local carpinteria growers overseeing operations for orchids, flowers, herbs and cannabis.
Martijn leaves his beloved wife of 10 years, Abigail Pauline Mary Anderson; 2 loving daughters Sophie Kathleen Elizabeth De Bruijn and Olivia Bridgid Marie De Bruijn; his father Gerard De Bruijn; several siblings; and a host of surviving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Tuesday evening December 14, 2021 from 4 to 7pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 755 E. Main Street Ventura. On Wednesday December 15, 2021 a visiting hour will be held in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 1532 Linden Ave, Carpinteria from 9am to 10am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10am.
