Frances Roberts Beck, 86, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Fellowship-Cordelia Manor in Cordele, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Friday, December 10, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Gary Mimbs officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the services at the cemetery.
Mrs. Beck was born August 19, 1935, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late James Marvin & Magnolia Barnes Roberts. She was a graduate of Fitzgerald High School. She worked for many years as the bookkeeper for Modern Appliance. Mrs. Beck enjoyed singing with the Bernhardt Singers and was a member of the Red Hat Society. A lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, Mrs. Beck played the organ for decades and taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School classes.
She is survived by daughters and their spouses: Jackie B. Paulk & Jim of Cordele and Connie B. Nelms & Danny of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: April P. Gregory & Brian, Justin B. Paulk & Morgan, Lori N. Swanson & Matt, and Kayla N. Nash & Will; great-grandchildren: Emma Paulk, Beck Paulk, Lauren Swanson, Landon Swanson, and Ellie Kate Swanson; and a brother, James “Jim & Marjorie Roberts of Houston, Texas. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Johnny E. Beck; and siblings: Pete Roberts, Jewell Roberts Maner, Ted Hilton Roberts, Christine Roberts Crider, and Bonnie Roberts MacAllister.
