Gary Wayne Jowers, 62, of Ben Hill County, Georgia, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Friday, December 10, 2021, at New Hope Cemetery, in Coffee County, Georgia. The family will receive friends prior to the services at the graveside.
Mr. Jowers was born December 30, 1958, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Harrell & Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Avant Jowers. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1978. Mr. Jowers served in the National Guard for 12 years. He worked for Ben Hill County as a motor grader and for Public Works at the City of Fitzgerald. He will be missed by his faithful chihuahua, Susie.
He is survived by his sons: Terry Jowers & Michelle of Abbeville, Gary Jowers & Amanda of Fitzgerald, Joel Jowers of Newark, Ohio and Casey Jowers & April of Lakemore, Ohio; grandchildren: Magnum Jones, Tyler Jowers, Shyena Jowers, Logan Harper, Lakota Jowers, William Jowers, Ayla Jowers, Madison Jowers, Sean Jowers, Stormie Jowers, Hannah Jowers, Leland Jowers and Summer Jowers; a brother, Oliver Van Jowers & Jo of McRae and an aunt, Joanne Harper of Pridgen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sons: James Jowers and Magnum Jowers.
