James “Leroy” Jordan, 77, of Lenox passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Junior Clayton officiating. Mr. Jordan will be laid to rest at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 12, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Tony Jordan, Dustin Jordan, Jeremy Jordan, Jerrett Jordan, Flint Tucker and Rick Blalock will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 8, 1944, in Tift County, Mr. Jordan was the son of the late William Henry Jordan and Minnie Lee Clark Jordan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Eileen Hemby Jordan; four brothers, J. H. Jordan, Huey Jordan, Hubert Jordan and Billy Jordan. He was a gas attendant at Dixie Oil Company in Tifton and he was of the Baptist faith. He loved to hunt and fish; loved old westerns and television shows; and he loved Georgia football. He was also a member of the Army National Guard.
Mr. Jordan is survived by two sons, Tony Jordan of Tifton and Andy Jordan (Teresa Meadows) of Pendleton, Oregon; one daughter, Lorie Parks (John Self) of Nashville; four sisters, Dorothy Jean Jenson and Juanita Blalock, both of Tifton, Christine Varner of Jacksonville, Florida and Kate Modock of Elyria, Ohio; five grandchildren, Heather Wood, Rashalee Parks, Dustin Jordan (Brittany), Jerrett Jordan (Caitlyn) and Jeremy Jordan (Heather Woodham); twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be given to the family.
