Lenora Israel Cone, 74, of Enigma passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Cone at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Enigma, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Ronnie Cone will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Enigma from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Eric Hughes, Lane Stephens, Buck Peacock, Gary Gills, Keith Peacock and Lee Cone will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Darren West, Bryan West and Danny Denison.
Born December 14, 1946, in Albany, Mrs. Cone was the daughter of the late J. L. Altman Israel and Mary Davis Musselwhite. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cone; one son, Marc Stephens; and two sisters, Anita Wells and Sandra Musselwhite. Before retiring, she was a legal secretary for Morris and Webster Law Firm. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. She was a member of Enigma Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cone is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John Christopher and Tracy Stephens of Enigma; one daughter and son-in-law, Deedee and Wallace Hughes of Enigma; four grandchildren, Eric Hughes and his wife Brooke, Amanda Hughes, Heather Stephens and Lane Stephens; and five great-grandchildren, Ava Hughes, Riley Hughes, Sage Stephens, Finley Stephens and Levi Hughes.
