Nikolaos Glykis, 59, of Stoughton, died Tuesday, December 7th at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary C. (Papandrea) Glykis; his son, Argyrios Glykis of Stoughton; his mother, Argyro (Niforos) Glykis of Athens, Greece, a brother, Vassilios Glykis and his wife Andriani of Stoughton; his sister, Maria Glykis of Athens,. He was predeceased by a son, Georgios N. Glykis in 2000. He leaves loving nephews Sotiris, Georgios P. and Georgios V. and niece, Stella.
He was born in Kalamos, Greece, his father was the late Georgios N. Glykis; and had served in the Greek Navy, earning rank of 3rd Engineer in the Merchant Marines. Mr. Glykis had operated his family restaurant in Roslindale for 27 years. Nikolaos was an avid boating enthusiast, enjoyed fishing and do it yourself projects around his home. His greatest joy was time spent with family and friends, and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 12th from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester; followed by a Trisagion Service at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be in Greece at a later date.
