Gil S. Pimental, 57, of New Bedford, passed away at home following a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Susan M. (Avila) Pimental.
Gil was born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, son of Gil M. Pimentel of New Bedford and the late Maria Fatima (DosSantos) Pimentel and had been a longtime resident of New Bedford. Prior to retirement, he worked at the Fairhaven Shipyard and was President of F&G Home Improvements, New Bedford. He was a member of Hope Evangelical Church, Dartmouth. Gil loved life, his family and fishing.
Survivors along with his wife and father include his 2 sons: Andrew J. Pimental of New Bedford and Mathew G. Pimental and his wife Amanda of Fall River; his brother: Jose "Louie" Pimentel of New Bedford; along with many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:30 A.M.
Memorial visitation will be from 10-11:30 A.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
