Obituary

Malcolm James Bennett, 80, of Londonderry, NH, passed away at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH, from complications due to COVID-19. Malcolm was born January 31, 1941, in Boston, MA, and was a son of the late Martin and Muriel (Einstein) Bennett. He was raised and educated in Brookline, MA. He has lived in Londonderry, NH, for the last 43 years.

Malcolm spent a good portion of his working life as a cab driver. He worked for several companies, but he especially loved working for Red Cab in his hometown of Brookline, MA. He enjoyed languages and was self-taught in Spanish, German, Yiddish and others. Malcolm was an avid reader and enjoyed watching “Judge Judy” and “Days of Our Lives” with his wife. He was also a banjo player and enjoyed bluegrass music.

Members of the family include his beloved wife of 57 1/2 years, Margaret (Milnes) Bennett; daughter, Trina Bennett DeBoe; daughter, Laura Bennett, and her wife, Melissa Healy; two granddaughters, Alison and Melissa DeBoe; and his great-granddaughter, Mya; as well as two nephews and one niece. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald J. Bennett, in 2007.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium is assisting the family.
