It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of William R. Sale of Raynham on December 5th, 2021 with his family at his side.
Bill was predeceased by his dear wife Betsy (Albu) Sale in 1976, and was then blessed to meet and marry Dianne (Minardi) Sale, with whom he shared 40 years of life, love, and adventure.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Dianne, his sons Michael, David, James, and Matthew Sale, Edward “Ted” O’Connell, his daughters Janine Walsh and Kara O’Connell, 17 grandchildren, his sisters Barbara Horley and Patricia Blocker, and his many friends.
Bill was employed at Eastern Industrial Automation for many years as a sales manager.
His kids will remember him for his many skills, including soccer coach, hiker, scuba diver, tinkerer, all around skilled handyman, mentor, judge, and wise counselor, with an absolute passion for sailing. He was at home and at peace at the helm of a sailboat with Dianne, racing the wind with his longtime friends Bob and Barbara Hunt, and has found peace once again.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Marian Manor for their care and compassion.
His visiting hours will be Friday, December 10th from 5:00 to 7:00 at O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home on Washington Street in Taunton. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Ann Catholic Church on North Main Street in Raynham, Saturday, December 11th at 10 AM, followed by interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
